Privacy policy

This is a translation; if there is any discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.

This policy explains how the personal data of people who use fundacionbuinzoo.cl is processed, in accordance with Chilean Law No. 19,628 on the Protection of Private Life and, once it comes into force, Law No. 21,719.

Data controller

What data we collect

  • Donations: first name, last names, email, amount and date; and, if a certificate is requested, RUT, name or company name and address. For members, also the card brand and its last four digits (the full card details are held only by Flow).
  • Greeting or condolence cards: name and email of the recipients and the message.
  • Technical connection data: when you donate or sign up as a member, your public IP address, browser, operating system and type of device (computer, phone or tablet).
  • Emails you send us: your address and what you tell us.
  • Browsing: statistical data through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics.

What we use it for

  • Processing donations, sending receipts and issuing certificates.
  • Managing members’ monthly contributions.
  • Sending the cards to the indicated recipients.
  • Answering questions.
  • Sending news from the Foundation, only to those who accept it on the form (they can unsubscribe at any time).
  • Meeting legal, accounting and tax obligations.
  • Preventing fraud and handling claims about charges (with the technical connection data).

Data is processed with the consent of its owner, given when completing the form, or because it is necessary to manage the donation or to meet a legal obligation. It is not used for purposes other than those stated.

Who we share it with

Only with the providers needed to deliver the service: Flow (payments), Amazon Web Services (hosting and sending emails, with servers in the United States), Cloudflare (bot protection) and Google (browsing statistics). We do not sell or transfer data to third parties. We will only hand it over to an authority when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Donation data is kept while the relationship with the donor lasts and, afterwards, for the period required by accounting and tax rules (generally six years). Technical connection data is kept together with the donation or membership record. Emails you send us, for as long as needed to reply.

Your rights

As the owner of your data you may, free of charge:

  • Find out what data we hold about you, where it comes from, what we use it for and who we share it with (access).
  • Ask for it to be corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete (rectification).
  • Ask for it to be deleted when there is no longer a reason to keep it (erasure).
  • Object to its use for a particular purpose, such as receiving news (objection).

Security

Data is stored encrypted on Amazon Web Services servers and is only seen by authorized Foundation staff; technical connection data, only by its administrators. Payments are made on Flow’s secure platform.
