Fundación Bioparque Buinzoo and the UDD School of Design collaborate to unite design and conservation

With an exciting award day, the collaborative project developed between Fundación Bioparque Buinzoo and the Faculty of Design of the University of Development (UDD) ended, an initiative that sought to link design with the conservation of native biodiversity.

The project began with a guided visit by students from the UDD Common Design Plan to the Biopark, where they were able to get up close and personal with Chilean species of flora and fauna, as well as the main challenges associated with their protection and conservation. This initial experience was key to providing context, content and a territorial perspective that served as a basis for the development of creative proposals.

Throughout the process, students worked on design projects aimed at creating messages that would raise awareness about caring for ecosystems and the importance of assuming conservation as a shared responsibility, using design as a tool for communication and environmental education.

Finally, recognition was given to outstanding proposals, valuing creativity, environmental approach and the ability to transmit clear and meaningful messages on biodiversity and conservation.

The project resulted in an enriching experience for both students and our team, and reaffirms the value of creating spaces where conservation dialogues with other disciplines, combining perspectives and capacities around a common objective.

We thank the UDD School of Design and its students for joining this challenge and for putting their creativity at the service of caring for biodiversity.
